4.  What is my total cost in the 2nd year in the Turnkey Adult Business? 6.  Do you have a Money Back Guarantee on Adult Turnkey Website Design? Why not?  If the website design company claims to back up their design work than why don’t they do just that and back it up with your money?  This always amazes me.  If someone says there is a money back guarantee on design work make sure the contract states just that.  Don’t be a fool and trust someone without the promise being in writing.

7.  Are you members of all the watchdog agencies for this business such as scam, ripoffreport, ftc, complaintsboard? If not, why not?  Type in the business name on google with the word scam or complaint after it.  Or type in the owner of the companies name and the word scam or complaints after it.  For example:  Lipshitz scam or Ebony Design scam.  Dig down at least 3 pages of the results for some of these snakes are pretty good at hiding the negative comments about their companies.

8.  If I choose to have another hosting company host my turnkey site does my content on the members section of my site transfer to the new hosting company or am I stuck with you if I want to keep my content?  If they tell you that you can transfer the content to any host get it in writing on the contract or it is not worth a thing.  In court they will say they never said that.  At the very least ask this question on email so they will answer on email and you can print this out.  If they refuse to answer this on email or on paper Run Like Hell!!!

9.  Do I have to pay the billing company or is the billing processed for FREE? Many times you do have to pay and you need this on your contract.  Make sure it is or don’t sign.  Setting up billing and paying a percentage of each signup can be expensive.  Don’t kid yourself and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.  Usually with third party billers 14% of revenue plus upfront annual money for the rights to bill.  It adds up fast.  With a good adult turnkey business you have no billing expenses at all.

10.  Can I visit you in your office or at least meet you in the town that your business is in? If the owner of the business who throws his name around all day won’t meet you at least in the community he claims to be located in Run Like Hell!!  Scam!!!

11.  Do you have a vested interest in me making money? If so, do you make more money by assisting me make money? How? This article is going to focus on 11 important steps to assist you in starting an adult turnkey business. These steps were developed and used by me as part of the process I used when establishing my first turnkey adult site over 13 years ago. With every turnkey site I established since then, I have employed this process. It proved to be a valuable process for me then and continues to be today. I still believe the steps have great relevance in the realm of the adult turnkey business and that is why I want to share them with you.

1. Select a niche specific topic as the subject for your adult turnkey site. Do not be tempted and choose an ordinary topic such as blond, blue eyed girls to focus your site on. Too many other sites on the internet have this as their subject and it will take an extraordinary effort to make money with this. In the long run it is more beneficial financially to choose an obscure or unusual market where there is not so much competition. As some examples, I would suggest something like gay midgets or she-male bondage. Niche specific sites have a smaller but unusually loyal following. Those individuals will search the internet for a site that has great content relating to a particular niche specific topic and are more likely to purchase and stay a paying member of the site for months to come.

2. When choosing your domain, consider using names that give you both branding and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Branding is a name that is associated with a product, so when someone thinks of the name, they automatically link it to the product. An SEO marketed domain caters to the search engines and assists in ranking on the search page for a particular keyword. What I found is that by having at least one targeted keyword in your domain name will give you both the branding and assist in getting your site or a page of your site better recognized by the search engines.

3. While researching content companies, check for the quality of the content offered, how frequently it is updated and what your payout will be for every sign-up. Some adult turnkey content companies will try to entice you to use their content by offering a high percentage payout for every customer you sign. Be careful. The reason the payout percentage may be so high is because the content or the website is garbage, poor quality or really old. People do not want to pay for old poor quality garbage. So even though the pay-out from these sites is extremely high, if you are not signing any customers because the content and the site are junk, you are not going to get any pay-outs. No pay-outs mean you are not making any money. On the other hand, if a content site is offering you a lower pay-out but has a good looking site with high quality HD niche specific content that is updated routinely that is the company to go with. People want quality and they want content that is updated on a regular basis. Put yourself in the position of a customer; what would you rather pay for? Would it be old junk content video or high quality HD content video that is constantly updated? Really there is nothing to think about on this question. And remember, current quality niche specific content may keep the person as your customer for many months which pay-outs for you.

4. Never walk into a business without doing your homework. That includes the adult turnkey business. There are so many scam design companies out there. If you are not careful they will take your money, a lot of your money, make you promises and in the end leave you high and dry. I have seen this over and over again. It is a shame because these scam companies have no conscience. They just want your money. Some places to check online for potential scam companies are: ripoffreport.com, scam.com or complaintsboard.com. Sometimes just putting the name of the company followed by the word “complaints” in the search box will reveal some information also. Another research tool is to find out the name of the owner of the company and Google their name. A lot of people check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to determine if a company is in good standing. Sometimes the information the BBB has posted indicating a company is in good standing is not always accurate. For example, a lawsuit may be pending against a company but that is not reflected by the BBB as the suit is still active. The bottom line is look for and only deal with quality niche design companies. Check out their entire website, look at their content samples, read and understand every word on their site including what they offer and their pricing policies. Make sure you have someone read the contract if the design company offers one. If they don’t offer one; well, you know what to do then or at least I hope you do. Run Like Hell!!!

5. Work only with an adult turnkey web design company who not only builds you a site but is willing to educate you in the industry. Find a design company that will not blow you off or act annoyed whenever you ask a question or inquire about any topic related to your site. As mentioned previously, research the companies you are thinking of doing business with. Google the company names and the owners of the companies; do your due diligence. As a note, some of the owners of these scam companies will hide their names or use bogus names to trick you, the regulatory agencies and the BBB.

6. Many of the adult turnkey design companies out there will tell you that hosting fees are expensive. If you believe that and decide to do business with those types of companies, then all I can tell you is that you have been scammed. Some of these companies will charge anywhere from $50 to $150 per month basically starting from the moment you sign up with them. This is nothing but a rip off. Hosting for an adult turnkey site should be free for at least the first year. Hosting fees should not be an issue for you to concern yourself with until at least your second year of operation unless you have a tube site which is the exception to this rule.

7. In the adult turnkey business, usually there are agreements where the billing charges are handled by the content companies. This means you would not have to pay any of the charges. If that were not the case, billing would be extremely expensive, costing the turnkey site owner thousands of dollars each year. Do the math and I am sure you will agree. Remember you are paying annual fees to bill and you are forfeiting a percentage of every sale and rebill to the billing company.

8. Doing SEO properly is extremely important in order to get the pages of your site recognized by the search engines. A lot of adult web design companies do not, in my opinion, label the interior pages of a site so they are identifiable. For example, you have a site built by one of these design companies that utilize the “tour” method of labeling pages. Your site has a home page and a number of interior pages. The pages would be labeled by the design company as follows: http://www.adult site.com/home.html for the home page; http://www.adult site.com/tour1.html for the second page; http://www.adultsite.com/tour2.html for the third page; etc. The page description is the portion of the web address after the “.com/”. As you can see, by using the “tour” method, there is no way to determine what the page is about unless you open it. Here is something else to prove my point, type “tour1.html” in the Google search block. There are almost 11 million results and if you look at the results on just the first page, you will see that following the “.com/” or “.net/”, etc. is “tour1.html” as the page description. I do not use this process to identify the interior pages in any of the sites I build. I first look at my site to determine what titles I will use for each page of the site. Next, I title each of the site’s pages to the keywords I believe people will type in when doing searches. Keep in mind that the names for your pages ought to be related to the topic of your niche specific site. For example, instead of Trannydominance.com/tour1.php, I would title it Trannydominance.com/Shemale-Domination.php, if you are targeting the keyword phrase “Shemale Domination”. There are many people who have web sites that do not take advantage of this labeling system and I can not figure out why. Labeling your pages using “tour” or “Index” (which is the same as the “tour” method) is doing your site and its pages no favors in getting ranked well with the search engines.

9. I have run into a number of people who panic when it comes time to write the text for the pages of a web site. The best advice I can give is to relax, just sit down and write it. Write at least 500 words or so for each page. This is important and many site designers either neglect or forget to do this. For whatever reason, they pack the pages of the site with graphics. It may look appealing, but in reality the search engines do not read the graphics so in essence all it does is give window dressing to the site. The graphics do nothing to improve your visibility to the search engines. There needs to be text, about 500 words, on each page of the site with targeted keywords for the search engines to read. Neglect this fact and the search engines will ignore your site.

10. Meta tags include: title, description, keyword, header, alt and anchor. In my opinion, anchor, title and headers are the most important in this group. To be honest, I could not do you justice by describing meta tags in this short article, because there is simply too much information on this topic. I have read various articles that have been written on these sites and believe the people who post on these sites write well written articles and are extremely knowledgeable. 11. Links to your web site from other web sites is a tremendous asset in that they help you get recognized by the search engines. A link is simply other web site owners placing a button, banner or some text on their site which, when a mouse hovers over them and is clicked, bring the person to your site. Sounds great, right? But the trick is getting those other web sites to want to have a link to your site. One of the easiest ways to do that is to contact the site owner, preferably in the same or related niche and suggest you do reciprocal links. That is they place a link on their site to yours and you place a link on your site to theirs. Another way is to submit your site to all the search engines, directories and niche specific listings. Still another is to submit blogs and articles with information related to your specific niche and embed a link to your site within the blog or article.
