The text in the link that you can click on takes you to a website or transfers you from one page of a business website to another is incredibly important to Google search engine rankings. In my opinion, Google puts more weight on this than any other aspect of SEO Marketing when deciding your search engine positions. So you can’t be too careful in making sure you target a few different keyword phrases so you can rank near the top of the search engines.

1. Phrase Match (not exact match) – All I mean by this is if the keyword phrase I am targeting is “Turnkey Business Talk” I might also want to use the following anchor text: Turnkey Website Business Talk, turnkey web business talk, turnkey design business talk, turnkey online business talk, etc….

2. Name of Company – Just meaning Turnkey Business Talk which is the name of our fictitious adult website business. Make sure you have a space between the words.

3. Website Domain Name – This is the way many people will find you via anchors. turnkeybusinesstalk.com. Most people will link back to you using your domain name. Vary up the anchor text so your site is known by keywords other than domain name.

4. Synonyms – Search engines utilize synonyms and you should also.  Anchor text such that has the keyword business in it can use one of these keywords instead:  For example: Business, Company, Firm, Group, Establishment.  Mix it up.  Don’t always use the same keyword.  Similar meaning is given weight by many search engines today.

5. Misspellings/Miss-typings – You wouldn’t use these too often unless there are keywords that you target that are often misspelled. There are even mistyping’s that can be used and even words in the English language that are spelled differently depending on the country you are in. Here is at least one example of each:
